70-85 mg/dl. Western medicine now considers
fasting glucose levels above 100 mg/dl as a prediabetic
state.
Hemoglobin A1C below 5.0% is optimal.
British Medical Journal stated "An
increase of 1% in Hemoglobin A1c was associated with a
28% increase in risk of death independent of age, blood
pressure, serum cholesterol, body mass index, and
cigarette smoking habit"
