Integra Bio-Terrain
What Is Biological Terrain?
The origins of ‘biological terrain” can be traced to the
work of a French professor Louis Claude Vincent. By
looking at the parameters of pH (acidity vs.
alkalinity), free radical activity (oxidation), and the
mineral status of the body, he was able to give
important insight into the health of the human “soil”
(body fluids). Just as the farmer needs healthy soil to
grow crops, we need a balance in our own soil to achieve
optimal health and function.
In Chinese medicine there is a theory called “the root
vs. the branch.” If one treats the root they will always
affect the leaves and the branch. Biological terrain
addresses the soil in which the root rests. If the soil
is good and healthy, the root will draw the right
nutrients and become balanced. In the same manner, if
our body’s soil is healthy and balanced, we will be free
and better prepared to deal with the effects of chronic
imbalances.
Why is the Integra Bio-Terrain so Unique?
The Integra Bio-Terrain System is a collection of over
15 important tests specially selected to reveal the
status of the nutritional and biological terrain.
It is a one- of -a -kind evaluation system,
comprehensive and affordable. In this system the pH,
intestinal health, free radical activity, the status of
specific minerals and vitamins, and much more can be
checked and prioritized for an effective course of
action. Another important benefit is that there is
little or no waiting for results.
You get them at the time of the appointment.
What tests are run with the Bio-Terrain?
Adrenal Stress Test:
This is a specialized urine test that
measures the amount of chloride displaced into the
urine. Excess chloride in the urine is a reliable
measurement of adrenal stress or adrenal fatigue.
Adrenal stress is now a major health challenge and
results from our fast paces life-styles.
Zinc Taste Test:
Zinc is without a doubt the most
deficient mineral in the American diet. It is an
important mineral for enzyme production and essential
cofactor of the immune and reproductive systems. Over
90% of patients show signs of zinc insufficiency. This
simple test will instantly indicate your zinc status. A
person with zinc deficiency may experience little or no
taste of the test solution (zinc sulphate).
Malabsorption Test:
This urine test allows your doctor to
screen you for the byproducts of harmful anaerobic
bacteria and bowel dysbiosis. Dysbiosis is a condition
caused by a decline in the population of beneficial
digestive bacteria. This can lead to malabsorption,
digestive disturbances, allergies and inflammatory
symptoms.
Calcium Urine Test:
Calcium is an essential mineral for
many cellular functions, as well as for healthy bone
development. This test looks at the levels of calcium in
the urine and its significance. Moreover, this test can
also be a possible indicator for disease related to
calcium deficiency.
Free Radical Test:
Free radical damage can lead to cell
degeneration, initiating a host of chronic diseases and
acceleration in the aging process. The Oxidata test
measures free radical activity byproducts (malondialdehydes
or MDA) in urine, providing an accurate assessment of
free radical levels.
Chemstrip Urine Test:
This is a quick, in-office dipstick
test that measures 10 separate urine categories. This
test is used to screen for nutritional imbalances that
can contribute to serious health problems including
tissue degeneration, liver and kidney disorders, and
chronic disease. In addition to these tests, the color,
clarity and odor of the urine can give us important
insights about our internal biochemistry.
Saliva pH test:
The Saliva pH Test helps your doctor
to detect deep levels of physical and mental stress.
When highly stressed, the body becomes acidic, which in
turn displaces valuable alkaline minerals.
Vitamin C Test:
Vitamin C is crucial to the health of
the immune system, vascular system, and connective
tissue, and is a powerful antioxidant. It is also an
essential cofactor in many metabolic processes. This
quick urine test will conveniently determine your
vitamin C status.
Mineral Salts - Electrolytes:
Mineral salt compounds can destroy
tissue, over-stimulate the nervous system, and threaten
the health of the heart. This test will identify the
levels of mineral salts. People with decreased mineral
salts tend to be more fatigued, anemic and have weak
energy or dull chi (oriental medicine). They tend to be
prone to cold temperatures and lower blood pressure. On
the other hand, high electrolyte types tend to have more
oxidation, higher blood pressure and stress, which can
lead to hypertension and cardiac stress.
Urinary Sugars Test:
Sugar metabolism is tremendously
important with regard to the body's ability to access
the appropriate energy production pathways. Without
proper glycemic control, energy will fluctuate. This
measurement is for total urinary sugars, not just
glucose. Urinary sugars are tested to measure both high
and low levels in the body.
Ureas: Nitrates & Ammonias:
This test will accurately measure
Ureas, which are waste products left over from normal
chemical reactions in the body. High amounts of these
byproducts can burden the liver and kidneys over time.
Weak kidney and liver function are foundational in many
chronic conditions.
